Challenge #46: e.e. cummings
Whispers of Love

“i like my body when it is with your body,” Ben whispered one night.

“I like your body too,” Michael said with a laugh.

Ben shook his head, “No, listen.” He turned toward Michael, holding his gaze. Stroking his chest, his hips, finally his cock, but never looking away from Michael’s eyes, Ben continued.

“i like your body, i like what it does, i like its hows. i like to feel the spine of your body and its bones, and the trembling-firm-smooth ness and which I will again and again and again kiss”

Michael quivered under Ben’s hand and heard.

Challenge #47: Icon Inspired
Connection
Based on this icon by [livejournal.com profile] sanami276:

Brian didn’t know the name of the song that was playing or how long they’d been out on the dance floor. He didn’t know if anyone was watching them or if they’d been swallowed up in the crowd.

He knew nothing beyond the slide of Justin’s hair through his fingers, the mingled scent of his sweat and cologne. He heard his laughter through the music, felt the sway of his hips as they moved together. They kissed, and he tasted beer and salt and Justin.

“Fuck me,” Justin whispered, taking his hand and leading the way as the lights flashed.

Challenge #48: Angst
The First Step

Ted stood outside the door, motionless. He didn’t want to go in, didn’t want to admit how desperately he needed help. Maybe it was too late. It had been too late for Blake.

If he left now, he’d go right back to using. The lies were so easy to believe, and he wanted another high so badly: Drugs were no big deal. He was just having fun and didn’t he deserve it after everything he’d been through. They weren’t hurting anyone.

But Ted got hurt, right there on the screen for everyone to watch. Remembering that, he opened the door.

Challenge #49: Mysterious Marilyn
Keeping Truths

Marilyn knew most of her clients laughed at her, but she didn’t care. She let them think her fortunes were all a big joke. She made up most of what she told them, anyway, only mixing in some of the truth. What she really saw was too important to share, and no one would pay for the truth.

No, Marilyn kept the future to herself, instead telling people what they expected to hear and sometimes nudging them in the right direction. You couldn’t tell people about real love and death and pain and partnerships and expect them to believe you.

Challenge #50: Sue-Your-Self
Call to Action

“Mr. Kinney, this is Juliet from the Barack Obama Campaign for Change, and I was calling to see if you knew who you will support for President.”

“Let’s see,” Brian said sarcastically. “The last time a progressive black candidate ran against a homophobic white prick, I took the prick down myself, single-handedly saving the city from years of bad government.”

There was a slight pause, then, “Excellent. I have you scheduled for your first volunteer shift at your local office tomorrow at seven. Or is six better?”

Brian sighed and wondered when someone else was going to save the world.

Challenge #51: Debbie
Finding Love

Debbie gave up on love. She had too many other things to do like working enough shifts to make the house payment and taking care of Vic and Michael. Her other boys needed her too; there were too many of them without mothers of their own. Debbie had time for everyone but herself.

It was surprisingly easy to fall in love with Carl. He was funny and kind; he had a good heart underneath that tough cop exterior. The hardest part was letting him take care of her, that scared her more than anything. Luckily, Carl was a patient man.

Challenge #52: Games
Male Bonding

“Where’s Debbie?” Emmett asked when he came downstairs and found Carl sitting at the kitchen table alone.

“She got called in to the dinner. Kiki or Kenny, I can never remember, went home sick.”

“Oh.”

“Something wrong?”

“Well, it’s just tonight is game night,” Emmett fiddled with the deck of cards he held, feeling silly. “I was going to make some popcorn, gourmet of course, and we were going to play hearts and gossip.”

Carl sighed, “Make it poker, extra butter on your fancy popcorn, and I’m in.”

“Yippee!” Emmett clapped.

“And all gossip should be of a nonsexual nature.”

Challenge #53: Weekends
The New Weekend

The first weekend Brian went to New York, Justin had to work. They fucked between his shifts, and Brian spent the rest of the time working on his laptop.

The first weekend Justin came back to Pittsburgh there was dinner at his mom’s, lunch with the boys, another dinner at Debbie’s, and he went shopping with Daphne. The spent every other minute fucking including blowjobs at both dinners.

The next time Justin had two days off, Brian canceled his meetings and booked a hotel room. They fucked until they were exhausted and still had time for a conversation or two.

Challenge #54: Purple Prose
Rewriting History
This drabble needed to include at least two of nine “purple prose” phrases. I used five. They should be easy to spot!

“And there you were, a young innocent virgin ripe for the plucking.”

“Ready to be swept away by the dastardly bastard with the dangerous leer.”

“Don’t forget my bulging member.”

“I’ll never forget your bulging member,” Justin stopped laughing long enough to smile suggestively. “All we were missing was a heaving bosom.”

As if on cue, Debbie approached their table, but gave up on taking their order when they couldn’t stop laughing long enough to speak.

They were still laughing when Emmett joined them. “Oh, this looks like fun,” He said, picking up the flyer advertising personalized Regency romance novels.

Challenge #55: On the Road
Are We There Yet

“Why couldn’t we fly?” Hunter whined from the backseat.

“Yeah, Ben, why couldn’t we fly?” Michael echoed, remembering his last road trip with Hunter.

“Because in addition to visiting JR, I thought it was a good opportunity for the three of us to have some quality time together. No set in stone itinerary, we can stop when we want, take in some local attractions.” Ben explained patiently.

Hunter and Michael looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

“I thought we’d take the wine route through Canada.”

“Wine,” Michael sounded interested and even Hunter perked up. Ben wasn’t above bribery.

Challenge #56: Friends
Unexpected Invitation

Ted approached Brian nervously. He couldn’t believe he was doing this, but Emmett had never completely warmed to Blake, and unlikely as it seemed, over the years of working together, he and Brian had become very close friends.

“Brian,” he began hesitantly. “Now that the laws have changed, Blake and I are getting married, and I’d like you to be my best man.” He finished in a rush, bracing himself for a barrage of sarcasm.

But once again Brian surprised him by simply nodding. “I’d be honored. But,” he continued, “remember this was your idea when you hear my toast.”

Challenge #57: Arresting Behavior
Food Fight

“Debbie, honey, I’m going to have to take you down to the station.”

“Carl, you can’t arrest us. This is a peaceful protest.”

“No one else is under arrest. Just you. It seems Mr. Taylor,” Carl said the name with disgust. “Insists on pressing charges.”

“I guess a coward who’d send his own son to jail doesn’t mind having little old ladies arrested,” Debbie yelled as Carl led her away.

“You got good aim,” Carl whispered as they watch Craig wipe pieces of the lemon bars Debbie had intended to share with her fellow Prop 8 protesters off his face.

Challenge #58: Chairs
Don’t Ask

“What the fuck?” Brian asked, walking into the diner after a week in New York.

“Don’t fucking ask,” Debbie yelled. “Never mind, fucking ask.” She set her tray down heavily.

“The new fucking manager decided the booths encouraged people to linger so he pulled them out and replaced them with chairs. Fucking chairs! Do you know what a pain in the ass it is to dodge chairs all day? You’d think it’d fucking kill some people to push their chair in. Wait till I break my fucking hip tripping over a fucking chair.”

Brian took a stool at the counter.

Challenge #59: Gay-Tastic
Pimp at Work?
Based on the video found here:

“Ted! Didn’t you once loss a job after getting caught watching internet porn?”

“Brian,” Ted was startled but recovered. “It’s not porn. Look.”

Brian moved behind Ted, and after a few minutes, shut the monitor off, a look of disgust on his face. “The Gay Pimp? Theodore, the next time I find you playing online during work it had damn well better involve ten inch cocks and anal beads not this crap.”

“Watch this one; it’s my favorite.”

Brian watched in disbelief as Ted sung along. “Turn that shit off and go to a meeting because you obviously need help.”

Challenge #60: Leather
Play Time

The leather jacket didn’t make the trip to L.A. or get packed for New York. It was one of the few things he left behind when he thought he had no choice but to move on. It really wasn’t Justin’s style; most of the time it hung in the back of Brian’s closet. Forgotten.

But every now and then, he’d come home and find it on the bed. Brian would be at the computer or watching television. Justin would pull on his tightest jeans, a threadbare T-shirt, and the jacket, and go negotiate with his client. Sometimes Brian even paid.
